Free Mail Client For Mac With Google Calendar

I'm a new subscriber to Microsoft Office 365 Business plan. Am am also a long time Gmail and Google contacts and calendar user. Have consulted with a IT as well as spending 1 hour on the phone with a Microsoft Technical Support person. I am unable to get anyone to assist me or tell me how to SYNC Google Contacts and Calendar with Outlook 2016 and vica versa. In today's technical world, this would seem beyond logical but for the life of me, I have not been able to get anyone to tell me how to do this.

I can import Google Contact and Google Calendar into Outlook 2016. The Calendars are side by side, not combined. I simply want to be able to make changes to either my contacts or calendar from either Google or Outlook and have it update both.

Why is this so impossible to accomplish? Microsoft Tech tells me to contact Google. Why should I have to contact anyone? Did Microsoft not figure out that Google is a rather large playing in this arena and there are millions of users who would want this same feature?

All I want to do is SYNC (not just import) but have the changes and updates in both SYNC!

My work uses the Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, etc). I am currently using AirMail as my MacOSX client and iPhone client for mail, but looking for a calendar client app that supports google calendar.

Anyone who why I can get this accomplished?

Apple does provide some of the beautifully crafted applications. One of which is the default Mail app on the Mac. And mail clients on the large are everywhere.
